Elizabethan II

Picture
My fascination with half-timbered houses continues with this piece (Elizabethan I in Gallery IV). It is interesting that, in general, half-timbered houses in Britain are black and white, while in the rest of Europe they seem to be black and yellow, so this is a street corner where both styles meet.
This piece was juried into European Art Quilts VIII (2014), travelling in Europe. And it is at present travelling in the USA, as part of Modern Inspirations - Art Quilts from 1970s through today.

Bloody Foreigners

Picture
This piece of work was inspired by the many reports in the media about foreigners taking our work, foreigners creating problems, exploiting the system, etc. I find this at best irritating and at worst mad-making! Every human being comes from someone who was a "foreigner" at some time, some more recent than others. Human beings have always moved around looking for better lives, or simply to see and experience a new place.

The Green at Southwick

Picture
Southwick, the place were I live, has a wonderful Green divided in two. Both areas are used for many activities, playing football, running, dog walking, etc.; although the south area is also used for playing cricket during the season.

Juried into the Ailsa Craig exhibition 2014 to be held in Canada
